Jr. Rifle and Jr. Shotgun Programs
The Maynard Marksmen and Clay Commandos programs are designed to introduce youths to the shooting sports while providing a safe and positive experience. We encourage good sportsmanship and personal responsibility through competition while building a foundation to make shooting a lifelong activity. Focusing on shooting small-bore rifles, our athletes have the opportunity to test and showcase their skills through local, state and national competitions.
The Maynard Marksmen is for youths 10 years and older and focuses on small-bore rifles and the Clay Commandos is for youths 11 years and older and focuses on the shotgun and clay sports.
We are affiliated with national programs such as the Civilian Marksmanship Program, the National Rifle Association, the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s AIM program as well as the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation’s Scholastic Clay Target Program.
Jr. Shotgun Program – The Clay Commandos
The Clay Commandos are affiliated with national programs such as the Scholastic Shooting Sports Foundation’s Scholastic Clay Target Program and the Amateur Trapshooting Association’s AIM program. While focusing on trap, skeet, and sporting clays, our athletes have the opportunity to test and showcase their skills through local, state and national competitions.
Meeting once a week from April through November, competition is without a doubt part of our focus. The athletes are encouraged to challenge themselves and push their personal goals while promoting good sportsmanship and personal responsibility all while being a good teammate.

Jr. Rifle Program – The Maynard Marksmen
The mission of The Maynard Marksmen is to introduce youths to the shooting sports through the safe and responsible use of firearms all while educating young people on the sport of 3-position small bore competitive rifle shooting. We provide a safe, positive and enjoyable experience while creating a competitive atmosphere that is mentally and physically challenging. Our NRA certified adult coaches promote the highest standards of safety and encourage good sportsmanship and personal responsibility while building a foundation to make shooting a lifelong activity.
The Maynard Marksmen are affiliated with national programs such as the Civilian Marksmanship Program and the National Rifle Association. Focusing on shooting small bore rifles, our athletes have the opportunity to test and showcase their skills through local, state and national competitions. We currently compete in the Maspenock Jr. Rifle League along with other affiliated clubs.
