Membership Update

The Annual Range Officer’s meeting last weekend marks the unofficial end of annual renewal season.  We stand some 473 members strong with 10 joining us on 3/13.

Many hands made light work! Thanks to our many, many volunteers personalized credentials and sign in sheets were efficiently distributed to attendees and the meeting started on time and flowed smoothly.  As in all things we depend on volunteers and having more help from many of you was the key to this year’s success!

We lose about 10-15% of our membership every year in the natural course of things.  So while we have slipped from our DEC 2017 high of 574, we’ll gain some back throughout the year and we’ll home to crest above 574 by end of 2018.
Once again more than 200 folks availed themselves on-line payment options!  Most responded to the invoices we emailed from Quickbooks.  Thank you to all that save the Club on postage!

“Life got in the way.  Is it too late to renew?” It’s not too late!  For those who feel out in the cold and want back in the fold, The Club has a very liberal reinstatement policy.  Simply pay your 2018 dues and you’re back on the inside!  No late fees, no requirements to pay lapsed years.  We’ll process your renewal get you your credentials; restore your access and get you in touch with R&P who will recertify you and we’ll get you back on the range in a jiffy. Contact me, Bob Trombly, at if you have questions or issues.

2018 Member cards
At the range officers meeting we distributed membership cards and Range Officer cards to nearly 260 attendees.  We’ll be releasing membership cards shortly.  I’ll leave them at the lounge for a bit so you can drop by and pick them up as you enjoy the Club.  Those not claimed in the next few months I’ll mail.  If you don’t anticipate stopping in any time soon and would like your card mailed please drop me a line a

Getting 2018 Range Officer Cards
Only the rifle & pistol committee can certify Range Officers (RO) and release 2018 Range Officer cards.  Alternate training dates will be published by Rife & Pistol in the newsletter and on the Club calendar.  Contact if you have questions or issues.

Access Cards and Fobs
Our evergreen access cards and fobs have in the past 3 years paid for themselves over the old system.  We’ve revoked access for those who have not renewed for 2018 we processing the sign in sheets from the meeting and restricted RO access (and specifically indoor card range secure access to those who have recertified 2018 Range Officers.

Need to recertify?  You can tag along at new members meetings 6pm second Monday’s of the month or contact for a mutually agreeable alternate date.

If your card is malfunctioning contact us; we’ll get you squared away.
If you’ve lost your card we’ll make you a new card for $10.

Trap & Skeet -NIGHT SKEET SHOOTING - Next date is April 19th, 6:00pm.

(Sudbury Side) Back by popular demand S&T has started its Night Skeet Shooting Program for Winter 2018. For those that have never shot Skeet under the lights on a crisp winter evening it is a truly unique experience. Visibility of the clay targets under the lights is surprisingly good and it is a great way to unwind and blow off steam after a winter’s day cooped up inside at work or home.

Please contact Grounds chairman, Steve Locke @ if you are planning ahead to volunteer one or both days.

Several carpenters are needed, and perhaps those that can paint, rake and dispose of winter debris, spread bark mulch, etc. "Many hand make light work."  All volunteers will be served lunch, and coffee and snacks in the AM.

Please participate to help our club, earn chits towards your annual membership dues, and to meet fellow members. Steve Locke promises to entertain all with his arsenal of gun club humor, constant whistling while he works, as well as leading a "Follow along" chorus of work songs...not to be missed.
